No. Commr.(AR)/CESTAT/Misc-84/2013 THE OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER Dated: February 5, 2014 CIRCULAR Sub:- Requirement of officers holding the post of Examiners/Preventive Officers of Customs, Inspector of Central Excise to be posted in the office of the Commissioner (AR), CESTAT, Mumbai, on diversion/loan basis - reg. This office is in the process of drawing up a panel of suitable and eligible officers of Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax to be posted in the OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER (AR). CUSTOMS, CENTRAL EXCISE, SERVICE TAX APPELLATE TRIBUNAL, JAI CENTRE MUMBAI -400009. The role of such officers selected would be to assist the Authorised Representatives in preparation and submission of the cases before the court and to attend any other work that may be assigned to them by the concerned Authorised Representative in relation to such cases. 2. Officers holding the rank of Examiner/Preventive Officers of Customs and Inspector of Central Excise in the pay band of Rs.9,300 - 34,800 + Grade Pay 4600/- in offices under the jurisdiction of the Chief Commissioner of Central Excise and Customs, Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur Zones are eligible and encouraged to apply. Such officers must possess a bachelor's degree from any discipline and must have a flair for legal drafting and pleading. A degree in law would be desirable. Officers who fulfill the above criteria and are willing to be posted in the office of AR may send their willingness in writing to this office through proper channel i.e. under intimation to their respective Head of Department (HOD). An advance copy may be sent to the AR office CESTAT, Mumbai directly. 3. The cases of officers selected and shortlisted by this office will be taken up with the respective Head of Departments for posting to this office. The tenure of such officers in this office will be normally for a period of 2 years and such extended period as will be mutually agreed upon by the officer concerned, this office and the HOD concerned. They will however not be entitled to draw any deputation allowance. Once selected the officers will not be allowed to withdraw their willingness. (P.M. SALEEM ) |
