Cadre-restructuring by CBDT, CBEC: Focus is to mitigate stagnation at cutting-edge levels; Principal CC-posts proposed by CBEC

Restructuring - BORING exercise

Oh what a bore! Now, the entire department will be talking about this “restructuring” for days to come and it will die a natural death after realizing that nothing concrete is being worked out by the administration. I was all the more pleased with the optimism expressed by TIOL that “…the proposals should be reaching the Cabinet sometime in December for final approval.” What remains to be seen is which “December” are they talking about, 2010 or 2011 or 2012 …2020. Twenty-Twenty vision would be a good one! Secondly, more top-level posts means more vehicles with beacons [mainly private], more cabins, more air-conditioners, more refurbishment, more crystal tea-sets, more orderlies…feeding so many mouths would be a gargantuan task – so more protocol officers, more revenue generation. Is there so much work left that you require so many higher level officers – I still sympathize with that poor Inspector who has put in more than twenty precious years of his life and waits for his FIRST promotion and that Superintendent about to retire without being able to add the IRS tagline to his name. Hopefully, the Board would seek the assistance of the Management Gurus, nay, the learned Bharagavas the department has!

Re :Restructuring - BORING exercise

shri birbal has taken care to hide his name.It is a feature of persons like him that to create is well nigh impossible therefore one should groan cringe and talk about the abysmal systems. He pays lip sympathy to inspectors and superintendents without focusing on the need for creation of more cutting edge posts to improve their promotion aspects.perhaps there is some magic wand with him that will pluck group b to IRS.with gst around the corner and many fold increase in assesssee base perhaps he wants the government to abdicate its functions of revenue collection.with the abolition of group d posts by sixth pay commission the existence of orderlies are in his febrile and feverish imagination.but one on front he is right definitely the nation and the organization needs more officers like kr bhargava.by the way what is the meaning of the administration not doing anything constructive.can the department of revenue do anything more than prepare a cadre restructuring proposal and submit it for consideration of the government.one should not display ones ignorance in public if it is avoidable.

Re :Re :Restructuring - BORING exercise

Ha. Ha. Ha.

As for the identity of Birbal, this is what Wikipedia has to say -
Raja Birbal (1528–1586) (real name: ''Mahesh Das or Maheshdas Bhat) was the Grand Vizier (Wazîr-e Azam) of the Mughal court in the administration of the Mughal emperor Akbar and one of his most trusted members along with being a part of Akbar's inner council of nine advisors, known as the navaratna, a Sanskrit word meaning nine jewels.

Birbal's duties in Akbar's court were mostly military and administrative, but he was also a very close friend of the emperor, who appreciated Birbal for his wit and wisdom, often involving humorous exchanges.

You may also be aware that Birbal’s stories have become part of a rich tradition of folklore and legend in our Country.

The message board Birbal was resurrected to don the role that Birbal played and is an attempt to bring to the notice of the learned netizens the other possible side to a story, be it a Mixed buzz story or a Breaking news story. Unfortunately, if “DOMS” and others of his ilk feel that ‘this’ birbal is going overboard, rest assured that he will go back to his grave.

Apologetically speaking, what does “DOMS” mean? And who said GST is round the corner – there are no corners to a Circle!

I would also like the furious commentator to visit the other messages on the message board and see for himself what the departmental officers think of the "restructuring". Obviously, some are used to wearing blinkers!

Be a sport MAN!
