GST - Aadhaar's e-sign facility for registration launched

By TIOL News Service

NEW DELHI, JUNE 13, 2017: IN view of the difficulty being faced by GST applicants and tax payers required to migrate to GST regime, in updating mobile number in Aadhaar data it has been advised that the tax payers may use Aadhaar based e-sign facility to register themselves on the GST platform which requires Aadhaar OTP.

In this regard, UIDAI has rolled out online Update Client (UCL) for update of mobile and e-mail in the Aadhaar which, being online, enables faster update. The client is already rolled out by UIDAI Registrar CSC e-gov (Common Service Center) at more than 15,000 common service centers spread across the country and more such locations are being added by them. The list of State Nodal Officers of CSC e-Gov who can be contacted for more information on these centers has also been made available.

CSC has been advised to facilitate mobile update from all its enrolment centers including, centers with UCL facility and to give priority to the GST applicant/tax payers.
