Traders want more delay in GST implementation

By TIOL News Service

NEW DELHI, MAR 06, 2017: THE Traders' associations have tried to make a case for further delay in the GST implementation by at least three months. They have said that over 70 per cent of small businesses are not yet GST-ready as they are yet to embrace technology in their business operations.

The Associations have argued that since the GST is a technology-driven fiscal system, more time should be given to small enterprises for equipping themselves to do compliance with pure online regime.

They have also voiced concern over the concept of e-permit in the GST regime for inter-State transactions.
