PM Shram Awards for the Year 2014 announced

NEW DELHI, FEB 09, 2016: THE Government of India today announced the Prime Minister's Shram Awards for the year 2014 to be awarded to 54 workers employed in the Departmental Undertakings & Public Sector Undertakings of the Central and State Governments and Private Sector Units employing 500 or more workers in recognition of their distinguished performances, innovative abilities, outstanding contribution in the field of productivity and exhibition of exceptional courage and presence of mind.

This year, nine nominations for the Shram Bhushan Award, Nineteen nominations for Shram Vir/Shram Veerangana and twenty six nominations for Shram Shree/Shram Devi Awards have been selected. Even though, the total number of Shram Awards is 32, the number of workers receiving the Awards is 54 (Including 3 women), as some of the Awards have been shared by workers and/or teams of workers consisting of more than one worker. These include 36 workers from the public sector and 18 workers from the private sector.

SHRAM RATNA

This is the highest Award (one in number) among the Shram Awards and carries a cash award of Rs.2,00,000/- along with a ‘Sanad'. For the year 2014, the prestigious Shram Ratna Award has not been awarded to any one as secrening committee did not consider any nominee eligible for the award.

SHRAM BHUSHANM

Total number of Shram Bhushan Awardees are nine. It carries a cash award of Rs. 1,00,000/- and a ‘Sanad'. Nine nominations were found suitable for the Shram Bhushan Award for the year 2014 in respect of Public Sector Undertaking and Private Sector. These are to be given to S/Mr Human Lal Dudhkaurav, Syed Akil Ahmed, Vijay Kumar Vishwakarma, Triyogi Narayan Jaiswal, Dinesh Kumar Mourya, Pawan Singh Raj (Jointly) and all from Bhilai Steel Plant, Bhilai, Mr V.A. Barnabas Jayaraj from Bharat Electronics Ltd., Hari Mohan Dubey from TATA Motors Ltd. and Pradeep Pandharinath Rajpurkar from Reliance Indusstries Ltd..

SHRAM VIR/VEERANGANA

Total number of Shram Vir/Shram Veerangana Awardees are Nineteen. It carries a cash award of Rs. 60,000/- and a ‘Sanad'. One female worker from Private Sector has been selected for Shram Veerangana Awards for this year. The Shram Veer/Veerangana Awards in respect of Public Sector Undertaking and Private Sector are to be given to Mr Machara Surya Bhaskara Rao from Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam, Mr Ashwani Kumar Sharma from Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd., Bangalore, Mr Bhoovendra Sharma from Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd., Bangalore, Mr Sheikh Sabir, Mr Ashok Kumar, Mr Preetam Singh Patel, Mr Ashutosh Biswas, Mr Hari Shankar and Mr Vineet Kumar Soni (Jointly) all from Bhilai Steel Plant, Bhilai, Mr Venkataswamy V. from Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd., Mr Sukhpal Singh from Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd., Mr Jagdish Chandra Gupta from TATA Motors Ltd., Lucknow, Mr Santosh Ganpat Raut from TATA Steel Ltd., Jamshedpur, Mr Sanjay Kumar Sinha, Mr Arun Kumar and Mr Amit Prakash (Jointly) all from TATA Steel Ltd., Jamshedpur, Mr Sanjay Kumar Singh from Tata Steel Ltd., Jamshedpur, Mr Makrand Madhav Naik from Reliance Industries Ltd. and Smt. Total number of Shram Shree/Shram Devi Awardees are twenty six. It carries a cash award of Rs. 40,000/- and a ‘Sanad'. One female worker from Public sector and one from Private Sector have been selected for Shram Devi Awards for this year. The Shram Shree/Shram Devi awardees in respect of Public Sector Undertakings and Private Sector are Mr Baldau Prasad Sen, Mr Prem Kishore Singh, Mr Deodhar Ram Sahu, Mr Rajender Kumar Dorle (Jointly) all from Bhilai Steel Plant, Bhilai, Mr J.V.
