India, Saudi Arabia resolve to explore investment options

NEW DELHI, MAY 30, 2015: ELEVENTH India –Saudi Arabia Joint Commission focused on enhancing the bilateral cooperation, knowledge exchange and economic ties between the two countries. The two-day meeting was co-chaired by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely and Dr. Tawfiq Fawzan Al Rabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A wide range of issues, including cooperation in trade and commerce, higher education, health, communication, culture and IT were discussed. Ministers from both sides also acknowledged the need to explore investment opportunities in both countries.
The two Ministers reaffirmed the longstanding ties between the two countries and progress that the Joint Commission has been making in enhancing bilateral cooperation, knowledge exchange and economic ties. The next meeting would be held in 2016 in Saudi Arabia. Representatives of 22 Indian Ministries including Ministry of External Affairs were also present on this occasion.
