Construction of Toilets in Govt Schools and quarters for employees attract Service Tax - Amendment to ST Notification No 25/2012

NEW DELHI, MAR 01, 2015: CONSTRUCTION, maintenance or renovation of Government building, schools, hospitals, cultural centers, – now attracts service tax – now construction of toilets in government educational institutions will also attract service tax.
The exemption for construction of residential quarters for employees, is withdrawn – treat everybody equally; tax everybody equally.
Construction, maintenance or renovation, commissioning or installation of Port or Airport now attracts service tax Levy. Isn't this levy against the government's aim to develop infrastructure projects in India?
Exemption withdrawn for transportation of following goods - tea, coffee, jaggery, sugar , edible oil, alcoholic beverages -by road, rail, or vessel for goods from one place in India to another
Exhibition of cinematographic film, circus, dance, or theatricalperformances including drama or ballet, concerts, pageants, award functions, musical performances or sportingevents not covered by, where the consideration for suchadmission is above Rs. 500 per person, will also attract Service Tax. Will this apply to cinema tickets?
